New arrivals
Hello —
I'm Lovisa, a Swedish/Australian photographer currently based in Stockholm.
I first picked up a camera as a teenager and started photographing almost everything around me. Partly because I enjoyed it, but also because I’ve always had a terrible memory. If I don’t photograph something, there’s a good chance I’ll forget it.
I quickly fell in love with how a camera can reveal a world our eyes were never designed to set: the tiny details of an insect through a macro lens or water turned to silk with a slow shutter. Turns out photography isn’t just about documenting reality, it can transform it, too.
By the time I moved to Australia in my late twenties, photography had become quieter in my life. The unfamiliar landscapes, coastlines and unmatched golden light brought me back to it. Not as documentation, but as exploration. Of the street you live on, a city you once knew, a distant beach, or somewhere you only passed through but never quite left.
I started photographing the world because I was afraid of forgetting it. Over time, the camera became less of a memory aid and more of a way of being present.
If my photographs do anything, I hope they invite you to pause for a moment. To look a little closer. To notice something you might otherwise have walked past. Or to return, briefly, to a place that once felt like yours.
Thanks for stopping by.
